The DC School Lottery Process

 

Step 1: Attend the DC EdFEST on Saturday, December 2, 2023 and visit the Statesmen Virtual Booth

EdFEST, DC’s annual public school fair, will be held in person for the first time since 2019.  EdFEST for pre-K 3 through Grade 8 will be held Saturday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DC Armory. 

Students and families will be able to explore the city’s public and public charter school options (PK3 – Grade 12), chat directly with school representatives and learn about the public school lottery – all from their devices. With the launch of the public school lottery application on December 11, 2023 for the 2024-25 school year, EdFEST is a timely event to help families make informed choices.  

Start by registering for EdFest using the link below. Then use your laptop, tablet or phone to attend EdFest virtually. While at EdFest, find out about the application and enrollment process and visit the Statesmen Academy for Boys booth to discuss your educational goals for your child with a member of our team.

Step 2: Apply to Statesmen Academy for Boys through My School DC December 11 to March 1, 2024

All new students must first submit a My School DC application and be offered a seat for enrollment at Statesmen Academy. Simply go to the website and fill out the application form.

Step 3: Lottery Results March 29, 2024

MSDC-Logo-EditedApplications to attend Statesmen are handled through a lottery system that is organized by My School DC. Lottery results will be published on the My School DC Website on March 29, 2024. 

Once accepted through the lottery system, parents can enroll their child into the school of their choice immediately.

Step 4: Enroll in Statesmen Academy March 29 to May 1, 2024

Complete Online Registration Form
All students must submit an online registration form via PowerSchool Registration.

New families will receive a welcome email with an embedded link to the new student form. Returning families will receive a SNAPCODE email with a unique link to their returning student form.
